John Goodwin are RICS approved valuers and we are very experienced in providing professional valuation reports to assist with probate and insurance matters.
Inheritance tax (probate) valuations
‘Open market’ valuations are provided to assist with probate matters in accordance with section 160 of the inheritance tax act of 1984.
Typically items having a value of £300 or greater are detailed individually with the remaining items assessed on the ‘global’ basis.
Where required we are happy to assist with identification of specific bequests.
A detailed inspection of the chattels will need to be undertaken however it is not normally necessary to prepare a detailed schedule.
A fully researched valuation report can be provided in order to assist with the application for grant of probate.
